San Antonio Development Council member Clark Boddy and recent graduate Joseph Herrera, Jr. were guests on the KENS-TV Saturday morning news June 12th. Principal Mark Peters accompanied them to the KENS-TV studio where they were interviewed by KENS news anchor, Stacia Willson. The interview aired LIVE that morning.
The focus of interview was who San Antonio Can! High School is and Joseph’s recent graduation. Clark told the viewing audience that San Antonio Can! High School is an open enrollment, tuition-free public charter high school. He explained that San Antonio Can! offers half-day classes so children who need to work part of the day are able to stay in high school and do that. He also worked into his interview that we have an Early Childhood Development Center on-campus for students who are parents – and for other children in the community.
Joseph said that he had made some negative choices before enrolling at San Antonio Can! and is so glad he did because he now has his high school diploma and is enrolled at St. Phillips College.
It was a wild morning on the news set while they were waiting for their interview. There were several dogs waiting for their owners to talk about the upcoming dog show, people from Blue Bell ice cream making ice cream sundaes and chefs from a local restaurant cooking lobsters. Both Clark and Joseph were pro’s and did a wonderful job sharing the great things happening at our school.
